Meet your soap bar's new best friend.  Beautiful, hand-formed by female artisans, and extends the life of your Apoterra soaps.  Made from clay sourced in North America, these soap dishes are made in small batches of only 50 at a time. Each is completely unique and slightly different in shape and size.

This is a special collaboration between architect Melinda Hart, who designed the soap dish, and ceramicist Marianne Chemla, founder of M Ceramique, who hand-forms the dishes in her small studio located in Montreal.  We are so grateful to be able to offer you this unique, one-of-a-kind soap dish - earthenware for your earth-derived skincare :)

Each dish comes packaged ready to gift. You will receive your dish in a lovely kraft box, embedded with our logo and sealed with a "You are Radiant" sticker. Inside the box, you will find a card with details about the collaboration. The soap dish is wrapped in tissue paper and protective padding.

Melinda Hart is a Canadian architect & founder of hART design, practicing for 20+ years. Her curiosity of understanding & exploring the limits of materials & tools has also brought her to fabricating objects in addition to her architectural work.

Marianne Chemla is a ceramicist, sculptor & teacher with more than 20 years of experience. Her designs are best described as minimal & organic with distinct & sometimes subtle textures. Marianne’s ceramics are deeply inspired by nature: landscapes, horizons, snow & stillness. She wishes to bring joy, contemplation, beauty, meaning & delight to people’s lives, & offer an aesthetic pleasure while using everyday objects.

Marianne & Melinda’s relationship began as a friendship when Melinda first attended Marianne’s ceramic classes, & has since blossomed into a creative, playful & professional collaboration. They quickly found common ground in their enthusiasm in working with clay & exploring different minimalist design objects.

When Dominique, Apoterra’s founder, approached the duo in search of a soap dish, they challenged themselves to think of a functional yet simple form. They found joy in transforming a common object, the soap dish, into a textually expressive & organic shaped object to accompany Apoterra’s small-batch soaps.

We recommend washing your soap dish by hand with warm water & gentle liquid soap. To remove soap residue in the grooves of your dish, soak in warm water for 2 minutes before rinsing or gently wiping away with a cloth or natural sponge.
Because each soap dish is made by hand & completely unique, sizes vary. You can expect your dish to range in size between 11 to 14cm in diameter.

All clay is sourced from the US (Kentucky, Tennessee, & Florida) & Canada (Ontario).

Packaging:
Each box is made with Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) paper. Stickers & tissue paper are printed on FSC-certified & acid-free paper using soy-based inks. Your dish will come padded with cellulose which is made from recycled material and 100% recyclable and reusable.
