Why This Face Mask Works

Hibiscus not only gives this exfoliating mask its deep red color, but also promotes skin cell renewal and improves elasticity. Acai and rosehip deliver vitamins and antioxidants that protect skin from environmental stressors. Glycolic acid-rich sugar, oats, and pumpkin are a natural face scrub that gets rid of dead skin that causes dullness; and honey envelopes skin with soothing hydration, while simultaneously fighting off breakouts.

Hibiscus Flowers // Called the “natural botox plant” because if its firming and lifting properties, hibiscus is high is natural alpha-hydroxy acids. AHAs exfoliate, promote cell renewal, help prevent acne breakouts, boosts moisture in skin, and improves elasticity. Hibiscus is also high in water-soluble antioxidants and Vitamin C, which help fight off damage-causing free-radicals, reduce inflammation, and promotes a healthy complexion.

Acai Berries // Acai are small purplish-red berries that are a potent source of antioxidants such as Vitamin C, ferulic acid, and epicatechin. When applied topically, acai can help nourish the skin, prevent premature aging, and reduce inflammation and redness.

Rosehips // The red fruit produced by roses. Rosehips are one of the richest sources of Vitamin C available. They also contain carotenoids, beta-carotene, and lycopene, which are all powerful antioxidants. As a powder, rosehip also works well as a gentle exfoliant.

Honey // Aside from tasting delicious, the benefits of honey on skin are vast. Its peptide, amino acid and vitamin content work as an anti-inflammatory, is rich in antioxidants, helps with wound healing, is a humectant to help attract moisture to skin, and is an exfoliant for congested skin. It can be used as a topical moisturizer and cleanser, and is great for dry, irritated or breakout-prone skin.

Pumpkin // Pumpkin flesh is high in beta-carotene and Vitamin C, which are free-radical fighting antioxidants. It is also high in copper and zinc, help promote collagen production and fade skin discoloration.

Sugar Extract // Sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid, an exfoliant that helps slough away dead skin cells to help reveal a brighter, more youthful complexion.

Oats // Oats contain saponins that gently cleanse. They are rich in antioxidants which help prevent premature aging. They also have strong anti-inflammatory properties for problem skin, and are a gentle exfoliant.

Use by date: For best results, use within 6 months of the date of production. Note that if your product is older than the above, it may still be good but we cannot vow for its effectiveness.

Good to know: This mask is made from a base of raw honey. For this reason, the texture and consistency can vary naturally, just as the texture of honey can. What causes raw honey to crystallize is a high percentage of glucose (vs fructose) sugars. Glucose, when applied topically on the skin, has shown to help reduce inflammation (that's a good thing!).
Your mask may arrive in a near liquid state (pictured here) or a more solid paste. A more solid state simply means your mask contains a higher level of glucose! Whichever texture your mask arrives in, it is fresh and will be effective. To apply easily, wet skin before applying.
