Winter is upon us which also means cold season is here. I have many tricks I like to use to get over a cold quickly, which includes drinking homemade elderberry tea and eating tons of cooked mushrooms.  These forms of nourishment help my body fight off infection, but they don't do much to ease the symptoms. For the stuffy nose and sore throat, I love to do a daily steam.

Of all the solstices and equinoxes, winter solstice has always held a special place in my heart.  Something about this time of year always feels so special to me.  Winter solstice is the day that marks the beginning of festivities, renewal, and slowing down.  My favorite roll on for this day smells divine, and really calms my nerves and makes me feel grounded and confident.  I am sharing my recipe with you so you can also enjoy what this lovely blend has to offer!

It's that time of year again when the sun sets early, the air feels cold, and you eat too many sweets (at least I do!).  It's such a festive and cozy time of year, but it can take a toll on our skin.  Winter means less moisture in the air, a tendency to eat too much of the bad stuff and to not drink enough water.  Skin tends to get dry and irritated, but it doesn't have to be that way!

Busy used to be the measure of success. See also hustling. The pendulum is swinging back in the other direction, as more often we’re hearing about the Holy Grail of the work life balance.

I am trying to deprogram myself from the rise and grind mindset. Waking up and looking at my phone with one eye open, heart racing from the number of emails, or lack thereof, is no way to live.
